You and Katie F are jointly my two very favourite Holmes ficcers out there, with a couple of close runners-up, and I think it's because you both have this wonderful delicacy of touch. You both write about the most heart-wrenching of all possible feelings and situations, and in less deft hands it could so easily turn into awful wangst and melodrama. (We've all seen it happen. Mostly on FF.Net *shudders*) But you and Katie both have such a steady and measured hand that it all stays subtle and restrained, which only makes the intensity of feeling that comes through all the more devastating.
There, was that a pretty enough compliment for me to be allowed to friend you?
